The Gangnam

The Design

Tables in Seoul share one quality: they hold stillness. Whatever is happening around them, a well-made table is certain of its proportions, its surface, its place in the room.

The Gangnam was designed with that quality in mind. A solid hardwood disc set above a tapered cylinder base, both turned from the same timber so the grain runs continuous from top to floor. The joint between top and base is the detail: clean, with no visible hardware, nothing that interrupts the surface.

It sits at the side of a sofa or a bed, holding what you've just put down — a book, a lamp, a cup within easy reach. The proportions are compact by design: large enough to be useful, small enough to disappear into the room until you need it.

Materials are chosen in consultation: solid walnut, solid oak, or natural cherry, turned and finished by hand. Each timber produces a different table — same design, different character.
