What "Custom" Actually Means

Every Dimension Is a Decision, Not a Default.

Most sofas sold in Bangkok come in two or three catalogue widths, one seat depth and one seat height. A made-to-measure sofa starts from the room and from the people who will sit in it. These are the things we decide with you, one by one.

Width & Shape

Straight, curved, L-shaped or a sectional in parts — sized to the wall, the walkway and the route in through the service lift, not to a standard length.

Seat Depth

Shallower for upright sitting and conversation, deeper for lounging. Chosen for how you actually sit, which is rarely how a showroom sofa assumes you do.

Seat Height

Lower, Korean-proportioned seats make a condo ceiling feel taller; a firmer, higher seat is kinder to knees. Set per commission, along with the leg height.

Frame

Kiln-dried hardwood, with joints glued and pinned rather than stapled, and reinforced corners — the construction that keeps a frame true in Bangkok's humidity.

Cushioning

Firmness and fill specified to the household: firmer foams for support, feather-wrapped cushions for softness, and an honest conversation about how each ages.

Fabric or Leather

Full-grain leather graded by hand, linen, bouclé, velvet or performance fabric — chosen with samples taken home and seen in your own light.

The final price depends on size, construction and the upholstery you choose, and it is fixed in writing before production starts. Our Wonhyo curved three-seat sofa — a hand-built curve in continuous upholstery — starts at the same figure and is a good reference for what that budget buys. Because the atelier is our own, there is no import duty, distributor margin or showroom rent built into the number.

The Process

From First Conversation to Installation.

Stage	What Happens
1 · Consultation	Free and without commitment — at our Wang Thonglang showroom (by appointment) or by message. Bring photos, references and a rough budget.
2 · Site visit	We measure the room, the walkways and the delivery route — service lift, doors and corridor corners. Free within Bangkok.
3 · Drawing & quote	Dimensioned drawings, material samples and a fixed price, usually within 1–2 weeks. Nothing is built until you approve.
4 · Build	Made by hand at our atelier: frame, springing, cushioning, upholstery and finishing. 8–12 weeks for most pieces, up to 14 for complex ones.
5 · Delivery	White-glove delivery and installation in Bangkok and across Thailand. International shipping is available on request.

Before You Commission

Questions We Are Asked Most.

What size sofa should I order for a condo?

It depends on the walkways, the wall, how you sit and — very often — the service lift. Our sofa size guide for Bangkok condos sets out the measurements we take on every site visit.

Which fabric survives Bangkok's humidity?

Leather, linen, bouclé, velvet and performance fabrics each behave differently in heat, humidity, sun and with pets. We compare them in sofa upholstery for Bangkok's humidity.

Can a large sofa get into my building?

We measure the delivery route before drawing. Where a piece will not pass a door or turn a corridor in one piece, it is designed to split — a detachable back or a sectional in parts — and reassembled in the room.

Do you make one piece, or only full rooms?
